My name is Lucy and I am a grade 11 student currently attending Francis Lewis High School.  In this blog, I am going to tell you a little bit about my background, interests, and my goals.
  
I was born in Flushing, New York and I grew up surrounded by people of different ethnicity. I live with my mother, father, grandfather, and my little brother. My grandma and great grandma live with my extended family back in China. Since I grew up in a Chinese neighborhood my entire life, I am not used to going to places where there are no people of my race.
I have an interest in animals such as dogs,cats, and hamsters. I also spend most of my free time with my friends. I shop, cook, study, and even exercise with my friends. Additionally, I like to watch informational videos on YouTube which are usually about interesting historical facts or new inventions. I want to travel to new places when I get a stable job. I’ve wanted to travel to Paris, France and to the Bahamas. I also want to go to Alaska to see the northern lights.

After I graduate from high school, I am planning on going to a college in New York. I plan on majoring in science and medicine because I want to pursue a career as a veterinary assistant or a family doctor. My future goal is also to buy a car and own a condo.

My Thoughts on the AP Exam

There were a lot of people taking the AP English exam and there were a lot of people coming in late. As a result, it took the proctor forever to get ready. Just like everyone else, I had to very little space for my exam papers because the desks were extremely tiny, therefore, I had to put stuff on my lap. I did really like the test-taking environment because people outside of the gym would often open the door, which I found to be quite distracting. Although the environment wasn't the most ideal, I was still able to complete my exam on time. I felt that the essay questions were not very hard but easy either. I wrote about the pros of the topic for the synthesis essay, which I found to be a bit hard to do because documents for the pro side were a bit repetitive.
